“And he said unto him, if thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence” (Exodus 33:15).
Every day, we should set aside time to commit our family to God’s care. We should pray for His presence to constantly precede and follow our family members wherever they go. We should also speak a prayer of protection over each family member.
A Prayer for the Family
“Almighty God, you are our heavenly father and we always depend on you. You’re consistent, trustworthy, and faithful, I humbly come before you today and petition my prayers for my family. You know that human life is unpredictable, so your protection and direction are the real light as we navigate life’s daily ups and downs.
I ask that you stay by our side when we make mistakes, give in to pride, or are just blind and do not see reality. Be merciful to my family in those moments.
Heavenly Father, please give my family members solace when they are feeling disoriented, alone, and angry. Give them the bravery to confront the obstacles that come with life. Be the beacon of light in the shadows, encouraging others to rise and go forward. I am grateful for all the favors you have shown my family and me. They show us how much you love us like a father.
Continue to bless and guard us. Lord, please don’t leave us when we run across obstacles and problems. Grant us the fortitude, trust, and discernment to sustain our physical and spiritual fortitude.
I ask this in truth and sincerity in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
