My beloved brother or sister, I suppose that you are making some effort to either discover or strengthen God’s power in you. Maybe you have never quite been able to pick the lock that must be hiding the power of God.
Eventually, you may have given up in frustration, believing that the power is somehow too elusive, reserved for a small group of individuals, the past, or only accessible via an inexplicable way.

Admitting that you do not personally feel God’s power is a big deal for followers of Jesus like you. Nonetheless, the New Testament is replete with promises of strength that serve as a constant reminder of the one resource that God has given every Christian — the ability to live in his power.
God’s power has frequently been misinterpreted due to the way we, humans, typically conceptualize it. To put it another way, we often associate God’s might with His physical prowess, omniscience, or abundance of resources. But the proof of God’s will is found in His capacity to use any means necessary to bring glory to Himself in any circumstance, actual or hypothetical. The two main sources of God’s strength are, therefore, His glory and will. All we have to do is know where to search.
To activate God’s strength in our life, we must first begin to understand why and for what reason He has promised to grant us His power.
6 Ways to Activate the Power of God in Our Lives
- Glorify God: In actuality, it is God’s intention that all of creation, including all past lives, be glorified. For the glory of God, all things were created. This vast and holy goal serves as the foundation for all other facets of God’s plan. “For through Him and for Him were all things created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities” (Colossians 1:16). God made everything, including humans, with the intention of displaying His glory.
- Seek personal transformation into godliness: A Christian who is certain that they will never change will definitely be among the saddest people on the planet. Our sinful nature is strong, and the only thing that can save us is the power of God. Nothing less than Christ’s power of resurrection will suffice. However, since God wants us to transform, He will give us the ability if we ask for it. (Romans 8:18–30; 1 Corinthians 15:35–50; 2 Corinthians 3:7–18). Since He is inviting us to be holy rather than perfect, we cannot be perfect. But the idea that God wants us to be holy, just like Him, is still a cornerstone of the Bible! Does God’s desire for His power to overcome sin in our lives seem unreasonable? If we turn to 1 Corinthians 10:1–13, we can now begin to ask ourselves, isn’t this one of the really amazing and real outcomes of God’s influence in people’s lives? When individuals who were helpless sin victims, whose lives were physically devastated by sin, are suddenly and dramatically turned into holy people, don’t we find that amazing? Honestly, don’t you wish you were more like them? (Romans 6).
- Bear witness to His power: Jesus promised to give us power. Acts 1:8 say, “And you will feel powerful when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and thus it will be easy and natural to be My witnesses,” as I believed for a long time. Upon the absence of the sense of power, I assumed I had a reason for my absence. I was looking forward to a sense of assurance that God had never given. However, He regularly used me to lead someone to Him when I was unsure of myself—and most of the time, to my total astonishment. Clearly, his might was at work.
- We have to strengthen our Faith: When we clearly see God at action in our life, it strengthens our faith in Him. Moreover, we must witness things that are so obviously potent that we can identify them as His creations. God desires for our trust in Him to increase greatly. In order to validate our trust in His strength and character, He is ready to show off (Ephesians 4:7–16; Philippians 1:3–8; Colossians 2:6–7).
- Acknowledge that we are not powerless: There are times in life when it seems like everything is against us. We have tried everything to solve the issue, but we are unable to find answers, resources are scarce, and we keep running into locked doors. At last, we acknowledge that we are powerless without the help of God and that our human resources have failed us. When we can hardly stand, God’s might keep us upright (Psalm 3:5, 41:3, 55:22).
- Understand God’s goal for each of us until the end: At some point in our life, we all doubt our ability to stay in our relationship with Christ. We are no longer able to muster the will to attempt because we are so tired, disheartened, and without hope for any meaningful, long-lasting change. It is at these times that we most need to understand that God’s goal for each of us is to be loyal until the end, and as such, He promises to give us the strength to complete our course (Philippians 1:6, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, James 1:4).
What we nan now expect
Whether or not you believe in God, the truth is that you have personally experienced God’s power in a variety of ways. However, since God provides for us without informing us by text message or voicemail, we frequently fail to notice His provision when it occurs.
First of all, God’s might was made evident in your salvation if you are a disciple of Christ. Paul states, “The cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but it is the power of God for us who are being saved,” in 1 Corinthians 1:18–19.
Because it says, “I will set aside the cleverness of the clever, and I will destroy the wisdom of the wise.” He understands God, thus none is rescued. God brings us back to Himself by stopping our aimless wanderings and even our hostility against Him. This is how we are rescued.
God works in mysterious ways—he answers our prayers, provides for us, gives us what we sorely needed, heals us, or gives us hope when we had none left. We are happy with what we got, but we need to be mindful of who gave it to us.
A thankful Christian grows to be an even more attentive Christian because they have realised how deeply God is a part of their lives. An observant Christian becomes a grateful Christian. The only proper reaction when someone finally realises how deeply God is engaged in their life is appreciation.
Keep in mind the things for which God declares His might; implore Him to reveal His might in your helplessness, and then watch for His manifestation. Repeat it often. Develop a habit out of it. Recognise and accept His power. And give Him the glory when you start to see and feel it.
This is a new way of life, not merely a novel concept. I hope you’ll realise that this is the life of dependency that God has always intended for you to lead. May God bless you.
