I remember when a dear friend confided in me about a troubling dream. She had seen some of her colleagues engaging in witchcraft. In the dream, they had visited a witch, and there, before her eyes, were all the tools of African sorcery—dark, sinister paraphernalia, clay pots, strange charms, and whispered incantations. She watched as they partook in rituals, and a deep uneasiness gripped her spirit.
She woke up sweating, her heart pounding. She knew this dream wasn’t ordinary. She knew God was speaking. But what was He saying?
God Speaks Through Dreams
The Bible is filled with instances where God speaks to His people through dreams. In Job 33:14-16 (NKJV), we read:
“For God may speak in one way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction.”
Dreams from God are not mere random images from an overactive imagination. They carry warnings, revelations, and instructions. And when a dream reveals witchcraft, it is not something to be taken lightly.
What Does This Dream Mean?
When God reveals witchcraft in a dream, it is often a sign of spiritual warfare. It is a wake-up call, a divine alert that forces of darkness are at work.
In my friend’s case, she saw her colleagues engaging in witchcraft. This could mean there is an actual spirit of witchcraft operating in her workplace. This does not necessarily mean her colleagues are literally visiting witches. But it could indicate that there are hidden manipulations, jealousy, or evil plots against her or others. Witchcraft in the spiritual realm is not always about physical rituals—it is about control, deception, and oppression.
It could also mean God is exposing the enemy’s schemes. In 2 Corinthians 2:11, Paul reminds us, “lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.” God often warns His children so they are not caught unaware. If the enemy is planning harm, God reveals it so we can pray, cancel, and destroy his works before they manifest.
Third, it could also mean a call to spiritual vigilance. Seeing witchcraft in a dream means there is a battle raging, and the believer must rise up in prayer. The enemy does not attack where there is no destiny. If you are facing such spiritual resistance, it means you carry something valuable in God’s kingdom.
We see in the Bible how witchcraft operates to fight God’s people. One clear example is Balaam, a diviner who was hired by Balak to curse Israel (Numbers 22-24). But because God had blessed His people, Balaam could not curse them. Instead, every time he tried, blessings flowed from his mouth.
This shows us something powerful—witchcraft cannot prosper against a child of God who is walking in righteousness. Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV) declares:
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord.”
My friend’s dream was not to make her fearful but to equip her for battle.
What Should You Do If You Have Such a Dream?
When God reveals witchcraft in a dream, He expects you to act. Ignoring the warning can leave you vulnerable to attacks. So, what should you do?
Pray and cancel the enemy’s plans. Rise up immediately and pray. Declare the blood of Jesus over your life, workplace, and family. Rebuke every form of witchcraft, manipulation, and evil plotting. Luke 10:19 (NKJV) reminds us: “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Fast and seek God’s direction. Some battles require fasting. Jesus said in Matthew17:21 (NKJV), “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” If you sense persistent spiritual opposition, set aside time to fast and seek God’s guidance.
Anoint your workplace and declare God’s presence. If you are led by the Holy Spirit, you can pray over your workspace, anoint it with oil, and declare it a territory of righteousness. Darkness cannot operate where God’s light is present.
Remain righteous and obedient to God. The enemy gains access through sin. If there is any open door in your life, repent and close it. James 4:7 tells us: “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
Do not confront people physically. This is a spiritual battle, not a physical one. Your colleagues may not even be aware of what is happening in the spirit. Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) says:
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
The goal is to destroy the demonic agenda, not fight people.
The Victory in Christ
One thing my friend needed to know was this—she had already won. The enemy does not attack empty vessels. If you are a believer and you are facing opposition, it means you are a threat to the kingdom of darkness. But Jesus has already assured us of victory.
Colossians 2:15 (NKJV) tells us:
“Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”
Christ has disarmed the enemy! He has made a public spectacle of them! This means that no matter what witchcraft, jealousy, or manipulation comes against you, it cannot stand when you walk in the authority of Christ.
Final Thoughts
If God has revealed such a dream to you, take it seriously. Do not ignore it. Do not take it lightly. It is a call to action. But do not be afraid. Do not panic. The God who revealed it to you is the same God who has given you power over it.
Dreams are God’s way of speaking. He is showing you what is happening behind the scenes so you can act before the enemy manifests his plans. This is an act of divine mercy!
So, rise up. Pray. Cancel every evil plan. Walk in righteousness. And above all, remember—you are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.
Amen!
